Available Technology and Support Gear

Hey, this is Los Alamos, and state-of-the-art is the name of the game up here. We all love our toys, and LAMP has what you need for executive-class meetings.

You'll note that a lot of this stuff is free, and the rest is priced significantly below the national rates. In fact, we only charge for something if it cost a considerable amount, it comes tied to a service that in turn charges us, or requires more than casual setup on our part. We want you in here, and gouging you for every little extra thing just keeps people away. So we don't.

All pricing shown here is in addition to the standard room rates.

Wireless Internet Access
LAMP provides Wi-Fi hotspot access in preset blocks of 2, 4, or 8 hours. Each user is individually authenticated and all traffic is encrypted via WP3, which is more secure than WEP. We have fiber to the building to support laptop-based Web conferencing with streaming audio and video.
Price: $Free.

 

Polycom SoundStation 2W
This is Polycom's advanced wireless unit. Designed for small to medium conference rooms, it uses a dedicated wireless encrypted link to the LAMP phone system. This allows placement anywhere without creating trip hazards. Polycom has built some of the industry's best noise suppression and echo cancelling technologies into this unit so your end of the conversation sounds clear and natural.
Price: $Free.

 

Fixed Mount Mitsubishi XL9U Projector
Designed for medium room applications, this unit has one of the best color reproduction capabilities of its class. We've suspended this one from the ceiling in our multipurpose room so all the presenter has to do is plug a VGA cable into the wall. This placement minimizes projector noise and eliminates the possibility of someone tripping over a cable.
Price: $10 per hour.

 

20" Monitor
What happens when you only have 4 or 5 people and they fit nicely around one conference table, yet you still want to share content? A projector is overkill at this point, but it's tough to run a laptop and still let everyone see the screen. So we place this monitor on the table and the problem is solved.
Price: $Free.

 

Stand-Alone Projector & Screen
The other projector When you need to share content using a really large image, we can handle it. This projector is the twin sister of the ceiling-mounted projector in the multipurpose room. The screen is a high quality, portable model with excellent reflectivity.
Price: $10 per hour.

Dell Inspirion Laptop

As a presenter, it's really nice to be able to just bring a flash drive and plug in to a fully configured laptop. This Dell is running Windows Vista Home Premium, has 1GB of RAM and built-in wireless LAN access. It has Office 2007 (Excel, OneNote, Powerpoint, Word) as well as Adobe Acrobat and the hardware and software necessary for Web conferencing via Acrobat Connect.

Here, the laptop is shown connected to the videoconferencing system so you can share the screen with the other participants. You can use LAMP's laptop for this, or you can bring your own.

Price: $15 per hour.

 

ELMO Document Camera
Videoconferences often need to share printed documents, manuals, or books. The ELMO P10 visual presenter provides XGA resolution at 20 frames per second. A free-angle camera, adjustable lighting, and 48X zoom enables you to image anything from a postage stamp to a legal-size document.
Price: $10 per hour.

 

Acrobat Connect Web Conferencing

OK, so your other endpoints only have phones and maybe WebCams. You still need to meet and share content, and LAMP has the solution. We have a production account with Adobe's Acrobat Connect Web conferencing service so you can share content and even streaming video with up to 14 other endpoints at a fraction of the cost of full videoconferencing.

With this approach, it's best to use one of our laptops, as they're already set up with WLAN, a WebCam, and Acrobat Connect presentation software. A table top monitor and the Polycom phone makes life better at your end, so we've set this up as a package deal.

Price: $20 per hour.

 

Toll-free Audio Conferencing

When you need to connect via telephone with multiple endpoints, nothing beats dial-in, toll-free audio conferencing. LAMP has a production audio conferencing account, so all you have to do is share the number and the meeting passcode. We'll set up the call and let you run with it.

When you combine this with an Acrobat Connect Web conference, you can manage the audio for each participant via the presentation software.

Price: $10 per hour per endpoint.

 

Digital Camera
Sometimes what winds up on the white board is invaluable. LAMP has an Olympus E-500 8-megapixel digital SLR camera for just those occasions. Just ask, and we'll snap what you want and either e-mail it to you or put it on your flash drive on the spot.
Price: $Free.

 

DVD/VCR Recorder-Player
Sometimes it's necessary to record a videoconference session to DVD or video cassette, or play one and share the results. LAMP has this capability integrated into the rack in the videoconference room.

Price: $20 to burn a DVD or cassestte; $Free to just play one.
